Computers by Apricot Computers

Apricot Computers was the name adopted by Britain's Applied Computer Techniques in 1985 after the success of its Apricot range. The company became known for carefully designed business computers that combined strong industrial design with features such as 3.5-inch disk drives, high-resolution graphics, infrared keyboards and, in the Apricot Portable, built-in speech recognition.

Apricot was one of Britain's leading computer makers during the early 1980s, but its early machines followed Sirius compatibility while the wider market standardised around the IBM PC. The company later produced compatible systems and servers before its hardware business was acquired by Mitsubishi Electric in 1990.
